The NC Community Development Initiative and the NC Housing Coalition would like to congratulate Tyran Hill, the Coalition’s Local and Regional Policy Advocate, on his acceptance as a member of the Leadership of North Carolina Class XXIV. Leadership NC is a non-profit organization whose mission is to inform, develop, and engage committed leaders by broadening their understanding of and involvement in issues and opportunities facing the state. Hill will participate in a series of workshops that will teach him about the challenges and opportunities facing North Carolina, and allow him to collaborate with individuals similarly invested in assuming leadership roles to enact positive change throughout the state.
“Leadership NC is instrumental in connecting a diverse, elite group of future leaders, and we are thrilled, but not surprised, that Tyran was selected for this year’s program,” notes Satana Deberry, Executive Director of the Coalition.”
“Tara Kenchen, President and CEO of the Initiative, agrees, “Tyran has a fantastic work ethic and capacity for leadership and we know that, going forward, the skills that he will develop through this program will be invaluable to him and to the Strategic Alliance that the Initiative and the Coalition have formed.”
Leadership NC is an eight month long program, beginning in October 2016 and continuing through May 2017. Hill will attend seven three-day workshops across the state, during which he will learn about leadership as it pertains to government, education, health and human services, economic development, and environment.
We are extremely proud of and excited for Tyran. This is an invaluable opportunity and we are looking forward to seeing the many ways in which he goes on to positively impact North Carolina.
