Dec. 12, 2013 – The Initiative wrapped up the first year of its new online training series on Dec. 12 with a webinar that provided participants with valuable information to help them develop sustainable fundraising strategies.
“Sustainable Fundraising: Effective Resource Development Strategies” was led by Ruth Peebles, president and founder of the INS Group.
Peebles explained that sustainable fundraising means having both short-term and long-term strategies for fundraising and relationship building in place so that your funds are diversified and your programs will always have the resources that they need.
She gave participants insight into current fundraising trends and some key components of successful, sustainable fundraising, including:
- Tracking and managing your donor base
- Creating a strategic fund development plan
- Getting your board involved in fundraising
- Creating a Resource Development Committee
- Major donor campaigns and upgrading donors
- Corporate fundraising
- Special events
