Davidson Housing Coalition hosts Souper Bowl 2013 benefit Feb. 2

January 11, 2013 – Davidson Housing Coalition in Davidson will host a benefit Souper Bowl 2013 on Feb. 2.

Proceeds from the soup cook-off will benefit HAMMERS, a collaboration with Davidson College to bring emergency home repairs to the area.

The event will be held 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lilly Family Gallery. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 students 12 and older and $5 for children. For tickets or more information, call (704) 892-4486.

David Housing Coalition is a nonprofit community development corporation that provides homebuyer education and financial literacy classes and helped the Town of Davidson, elected officials and local citizens pass one of only three inclusionary zoning ordinances in the state, requiring 12.5 percent of all new housing to be affordable.

It receives grant funding from the N.C. Community Development Initiative through a program designed to help community development organizations strengthen their capacity for impact.
